Basilic vein location. It s part of the systemic circulation and originates from the hand. However occasionally it lies beneath the fascia at the antecubital crease. The basilic vein is a large vein in the upper arm known as a superficial vein.

Once it gets past the elbow it gets deeper into the arm under the. This vein is close enough to the skin that for most of its length it is actually visible. However in the upper arm it becomes less visible.

The basilic vein usually lies in the deep subcutaneous tissue at the antecubital crease and pierces the brachial fascia in the distal third of the upper arm. Leaving the arm it meets with the subclavian vein. The basilic vein is located in the arms.

The vein travels up the forearm and attaches with the brachial veins to form the vena axillaris axillary vein. The basilic vein runs down the ulnar side of the arm and also helps in draining the dorsal venous network of the hand it is shorter than the cephalic vein and terminates once it joins the brachial vein near the elbow the basilic vein pierces the deep fascia at the elbow and joins the venae commitantes of the brachial vein to form the axillary vein. The basilic vein is a large superficial vein of the upper limb that helps drain parts of the hand and forearm.

This vein arises from the ulnar position of the dorsal plexus of the hand. Additionally it is superficial to the lacertus. It runs from the wrist to the elbow where it is visible on the underside of the forearm.

The basilic vein arises from the ulnar side of the superficial venous network of the dorsum of the hand 2. Superficial is a term used to classify veins which are close to the surface of the skin. It is a large noticeable vein found on the upper limb that helps deplete parts of forearm and hand.

From the ulnar aspect of the superficial venous network the basilic vein ascends posteromedially in the forearm towards the anterior elbow region to pass anterior to the medial epicondyle of the humerus 1 3. It originates on the medial ulnar side of the dorsal venous network of the hand and travels up the base of the forearm where its course is generally visible through the skin as it travels in the subcutaneous fat and fascia lying superficial to the muscles. Specifically it drains blood from parts of the hand and forearm.
